Holiday Greetings From Lakewood Municipal Court

Judge Tess Neff and her merry band of court employees send our warmest wishes for a happy, healthy holiday season and joyous New Year! With full hearts and fuller stomachs, we share a favorite recipe from the court:

Snow Balls

​1 cup butter, softened

​½ cup powdered sugar + more for dusting

​1 teaspoon vanilla

​2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour

​¾ cup finely chopped nuts

Heat oven to 400 degrees; mix butter, ½ cup powdered sugar, and the vanilla in a large bowl. Stir in flour, nuts, and salt until the dough comes together. Shape dough into 1 inch balls and place about 1 inch apart on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 10-12 minutes until set but not brown. Remove from cookie sheet and cool slightly on a wire rack. Roll warm cookies in powdered sugar, cool on a wire rack, and roll in powdered sugar again.
