Meet the Author- Color Capital of the World: Growing Up with the Legacy of a Crayon Company

Following the Civil War, three entrepreneurial families formed the American Crayon Company in Sandusky, Ohio. Color Capital of the World shares the story of the crayon while tracing the cycle of build, boom, and bust. Author John Kropf works as an attorney in the Washington, DC area but was born and raised in Northern Ohio. He is the author of Unknown Sands and his writing has appeared in numerous publications. Books will be available for sale and signing at this event.


Meet the Author- Cleveland’s Cultural Gardens: A Landscape of Diversity

For over 100 years, Cleveland’s Cultural Gardens have honored and embodied the wider history of immigration and ethnicity in Greater Cleveland. The gardens also highlight the multiple transformations of the Doan Brook Valley. Author John J. Grabowski serves as the Krieger-Mueller Associate Professor of Applied History at Case Western Reserve University and the Chief Historian at the Western Reserve Historical Society. Lauren R. Pacini is an architectural photographer and local history author whose work features the renovation, restoration and repurposing of historic northeast Ohio properties. Books will be available for sale and signing at this event.
