A rock climbing gym in Lakewood, Ohio?! Yes, you heard correctly -- Lakewood is now home to its very own freestyle rock climbing gym -- NOSOTROS! The name is derived from the Spanish word for – TOGETHER - and is the latest creative space to take root in Lakewood. The gym is beginning to pique the interest of many in our local community and throughout NE Ohio who are looking to improve their well-being and are striving to live a more healthful life-style.  Since opening its doors in the spring of this year, NOSOTROS rock climbing gym has become an ideal place to allow patrons to tap into their more adventurous side or simply to allow them to try something unique on their next date-night.   

NOSOSTROS rock climbing gym is well-fitted for every level of climber, both novice and experienced. The walls and climbing routes are clearly color-coded and marked for each respective level and climbing challenge. The various climbing walls and frequently refreshed routes at NOSOSTROS allow for beginners to learn and climb at their own pace, while also providing opportunities for the more experienced climber to scale as high as 14 feet without a harness.   

With over 4,000 total sqare feet of climbing surface, NOSOTROS is perfect for the novice who is looking for a new and interesting experience as well as those who would be challenged by going almost completely inverted in the carefully crafted roof-lined “cave” walls. Available to all guests is the gym's training corner equipped with various-sized holds and campus rungs to help strengthen one's grip, pull-up bars, peg boards, and even a Ninja Warrior salmon ladder.   

NOSOTROS rock climbing gym is regularly open from Noon-10pm on weekdays and 9am-10pm on Saturdays. Rates are extremely reasonable and vary by the number of sessions, months, or years for which one signs on. Some may even choose to go all-in with the life-long membership option! Feel free to bring your own water, snacks, and equipment. Those who are new to climbing, can rent the basics from the gym at an additional cost.  

As if participating in an awesome workout with friends and family weren’t enough, NOSOTROS gym is actually registered as a non-profit business that touts a heart-filled mission of building strong relationships for individuals and families through exercise and spending quality time together. Founder and fellow Lakewood resident, Peter Stancato, desires the gym be known as a unique and practical instrument that “uses rock holds to better households.” Mr. Stancato hopes to accomplish this by offering not only a great space for exercise and bringing people together, but also tangible assistance to those in the community who are in need. In order to see this mission fulfilled, NOSOTROS gym aims to sponsor different people from the community who are in need as funds allow throughout the year. With such noble endeavors and intentions, it is little wonder why the gym has found a home in this great community of Lakewood.
