Paint Lakewood Applications Now Available LakewoodAlive Program Helps Residents With The Cost Of Painting Their Homes

Applications are now available for LakewoodAlive’s 2013 “Paint Lakewood” program. With funding through the city’s Community Development Block Grant allocation, the program provides income-eligible residents up to $1,000 towards materials to paint the exterior of their homes.

“Our goal is to revitalize Lakewood’s neighborhoods and also educate residents on lead safety issues that are prevalent in older homes,” said LakewoodAlive Housing Outreach Coordinator Laura Krawczyk. “Tackling this home maintenance issue can cost homeowners thousands of dollars. With the Paint Lakewood Program, we hope to defray the cost.”

Known as the “City of Homes,” Lakewood’s beautiful and historic homes are a defining feature of the community. LakewoodAlive’s Housing Outreach Program, in collaboration with the City of Lakewood, helps homeowners maintain and enhance the historic housing stock, works with homeowners and investors to abate code violations, and provides resources to help strengthen the foundation of our community.

Lakewood residents are also eligible to receive free technical advice from the Cleveland Restoration Society, including color consultations to determine historically-appropriate color schemes for their homes.

To qualify, applicants must complete an income verification process and participate in lead safety education. For more information, please contact LakewoodAlive’s Housing Outreach Program at 216-521-1554 or email Laura Krawczyk at lkrawczyk@lakewoodalive.com. Application forms are available at the LakewoodAlive offices at 14701 Detroit Avenue, Lower Level #10 or on the website: www.paintlakewood.com.
