Colin, Tom, and Sarah Jamieson.
Colin had his usual busy morning: School at 9:00, OT at 10:00 and Speech at 11:00. The surprise for the day came after lunch. Tom Fritsche, from the Monsters came to visit Colin again. Sarah Jamieson came with him. Both spoiled him with gifts, but nothing tops the autographed hockey stick from Tom! We all talked for a while and then they joined us for a couple games of Uno Spin. We had a great time. I don’t know if Tom realizes how wonderful he makes Colin feel by visiting him and encouraging him to keep working hard. Colin glows after his visits. I’m not even sure I know quite how to thank Tom and Sarah. After the lunchtime excitement it was back to work for Colin – no rest for the weary! He had Speech again at 3:00, PT at 4:00 and masterpiece at 5:00. Colin’s Godmother, Aunt Denise, popped in for a visit around 4:00 with Kara and Grant. They patiently waited for him to finish with his scheduled activities and stayed quite late for an enjoyable visit. Paul and I attended the biweekly team meeting this afternoon to discuss Colin’s progress. Again, they are pleased with his progress. It may be slow, but it is steady. We talked about the length of Colin’s stay here at the Children’s Hospital. Of course when asked our opinion, Paul and I agreed that we simply want whatever will benefit Colin the most. The staff here would like to keep him until his next surgery in December, but of course it will always depend on his progress. That is why the team meets biweekly. We also discussed the possibility of a day pass to go home for an afternoon. Before this can happen we need to be trained on car transfers. So I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.Free Time for Nov. 10 – Nov. 14, 2008
