I got an iPhone 3G a couple weeks ago. Overall, I have to say I’m happy but miss having video capabilities of my Blackberry. I understand the 3Gs has video but I’m not about to spend another $50 more to get that.
Anyway, the 3G also acts as an iPod to play movies and music. You can add video files already on your computer to your iTunes library. However, it doesn’t appear that I can add DVDs I already own to my library the way I can add music from CDs. You have to buy or rent from the iTunes Store. Why buy again?
I’ve seen on the net there is a plethora of DVD to iPod software that will turn your DVDs into iTunes compatible video files and from here you can load them to your library. Does anyone have experience in this area?
