As we start to round the August turn of summer 2021 we take a look at many of the things happening around town. Lakewood’s grandest event, started by Lucie Sinagra, Lakewood Arts Festival is a couple weeks away and we take a look at the first one back since 2019. This is always a great day for Lakewoodites to mingle and buy on Detroit Ave. along with people from all over the state. It makes for a wonderful stroll down the avenue.

This issue has news from Lakewood Public Library, the schools and businesses around Lakewood including some new businesses and food options. Of course all of these stories are written by not just your friends and neighbors but the people who were involved in the story. A unique chance to read without the traditional spin of non-profit media projects.

As always I would like to thank everyone who has contributed to this latest issue of the paper. And to all who have taken the time to submit, read, advertise and support this very Lakewood project. Seventeen years in print, and seventeen years of proving we answer to no one but the residents of the city we love and call home.

Take the time, sign up, and share your stories and photos. Lakewood Observer: where the community means more than the Royal WE of Facebook. Together we record history, share facts, and take on both the tough and the fun subjects of Lakewood.
