In the heat of summer, the members of the Lakewood Observer has dropped another cooling issue, off at over 100 places around town.

Cooling? How So?

Well we cover the new pool regulations to ease some of the congestion in parks and pools. Pick up a copy to make sure you know the rules.

We cover City Hall and the Schools, with our usual gang including Mayor George, Council President Kepple, and a host of people that are directly involved in running our city. Questions? Take them to the top I always say.

We also have our reporters covering them making sure, the resident's best interest is always cared for. Especially transparency and accountability.

Gary Rice, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's "Guitar Guy" pops back into the paper, with the story of the Lakewood Guitar, was also posted on the Deck.

It is also my pleasure to talk about two businesses. The first Hixson's, the new owner proprietors hand chosen by Bill Hixson are getting ready to open. And to help clean the place out even more some of the big items will be up for sale at the Christmas in July sale, including the stained glass, and some displays. This is being done to bring more of the items from the many storage buildings back into the store. Matthias Burke plans to work overtime with his family to keep the Bill Hixson legacy alive. Matthias is also a fireman, but has worked at the store since the age of 14. He is the perfect heir to the throne.

The other is Irie Jamaican Restaurant. Deb and I have been fans of Irie for years. Usually going to the West 25th shop, then take it down to the zoo, Omar McKay, a Jamaican born Chef, really brings his skills, and love of food, to each Irie, creating the foods he grew up loving, while taking them to a new level.
Irie Jamaican like many of Lakewood's restaurants is always on BEST IN CLEVELAND lists. Check it out, you will love the flavors.

So once again thank you to everyone that took the time to send in their stories, photos, and information. Isn't it time you sent in yours.

Pick up copies at over 100 businesses and lobbies around town or download the digital version here:
