UPCOMING EVENTS AT LAKEWOOD PUBLIC LIBRARY

TUESDAY, DECEMBER 16

KNIT & LIT BOOK CLUB

Here’s a new kind of book club for both the knit-a-holic and the incurable bibliophile. Lynda Tuennerman will get us started with the first book selection. After that, meetings will grow organically like a long, long scarf as members make suggestions for books and needlework projects. We’ll keep our hands and minds busy on the third Tuesday of every month, sharing literary insights and personal projects. Visit www.lkwdpl.org/bookclubs to learn more. To register, please call (216) 226-8275 ext. 127. Tonight's book is Lamb (The Gospel According to Biff) by Christopher Moore.
7:00 p.m. in The Main Library Meeting Room

SATURDAY, DECEMBER 20

FIVE STAR FILMS--Dinner Rush

(2000-U.S.) Directed by Bob Giraldi Rated R
Starring: Danny Aiello, John Rothman
Conflict between head chef son and restaurant owner father. Dad misses his late wife’s traditional Italian menu; junior insists upon nouvelle cuisine. The Tribeca eatery hums. Regulars and all manner of poseurs frequent it—but so do underworld elements. The terrific kitchen scenes are authentic --the film’s director actually owns the restaurant.
6:00 p.m. in the Main Library Auditorium

SUNDAY, DECEMBER 21

Sounds of the Season

Sunday in the Park returns with classical and contemporary arrangements of familiar tunes that celebrate the season the way it’s celebrated around the world. Christopher and Karen Ellicott mix the traditional with the new on clarinet, guitar and vocal harmony.
