What do you remember about snow storms in Lakewood?

Re: Snow Storms in Lakewood
I remember digging a tunnel to school....uphill... both ways!( How many times have we heard that one? ) Now they just close 'em.
In all honesty we RARELY ever got snow days here unless it was an all out blizzard. We all walked and people actually used to shovel. We always had to shovel, not only ours but any elderly neighbor's as well. I know this has been discussed at length on another thread.
Rhonda, the pictures are awesome! Thanks for sharing. Do you have any pictures of the dome over Foster Pool??? It was always fun swimming there when it was snowing outside, it was like a warm igloo on the lake.

Lakewood Park: Interior of the inflatable dome used to cover the Lakewood Park swimming pool during the winter. The Park is located in north central Lakewood off of Lake Ave. along the Lake Erie shoreline. Photograph Date 1977.
Here you go....that would be nice...but I guess a big gust of wind blew it away. For more conversation about this dome, please check our Vintage Lakewood Facebook page. There are interesting things people remember.
