Meeting Minutes
December 15, 2007
Opening:
The fifth meeting of the Lakewood is Art organization was called to order at 12:15 pm on December 15, 2007 in Bela Dubby by Ruth Koenigsmark.
Present:
Ruth Koenigsmark, Chair
Jill Crino, Vice-Chair
Barbara Michel, Marketing/PR Director
Jim O’Bryan, Community Liason
Christine Kazimer, Secretary
Meeting Minutes:
Ruth greeted everyone and opened the meeting.
Announcements – Ruth received an email from Justine from MAMA advising that they were planning an artwalk on May 17th, 2008 and they would like our help as they want to start planning asap. Ruth felt we need to discuss LIA’s role prior to responding to MAMA; Jim thinks that LIA should take the lead on anything in Lakewood that is connected to the arts. He mentioned that other groups are looking for money available to organizations and their views on art may be different than ours. We want to use art to increase property values – art districts bring in wealthier businesses and developers and in turn, that brings up property values. Ruth said we don’t want to be the ones doing the “gruntâ€Â
