III. Status of 501 3c Status – Jim O’Bryan advised that the paperwork for incorporation of Lakewood Is Art is ready and requires 3 signatures, then it will be filed with the state and once incorporated, the organization can then apply for their 501 3c status.

IV. Projects / Activites – the following projects and upcoming activities were discussed:

Lakewood Art Walk Spring 2008: Ruth Koenigsmark provided members with a handout of all the businesses presently on board for the May 17th MAMA LIA art walk, noting that the bolded names had paid their fee to be part of the art walk. Jim O’Bryan said he would talk to Lakewood Hardware, John Waddell, Sprockets, Lakewood Library and MaHall’s to come on board as well. Also mentioned that Roman Ricci Hair Salon should be contacted as well. Ruth Koenigsmark advised that Art walk hours will be 2-4pm for kids and 4-9pm for the general public art walk. LIA will have space within Vance Music’s location for a table. Plan is to sell LIA t-shirts and run a membership drive to raise money for the organization; t-shirts will cost $20, or $15 if purchased with the $5 membership; membership drive is to gain list of e-mails and mailing addresses for future use to recruit volunteers and attendance at future events. Christine Kazimer offered a folding table and is to provide Jim with measurements so he can have a tableskirt made to fit. It was also suggested and agreed that we should seek artists to donate a piece of work to run a raffle; Jim offered a free photo print canvas as an option for the raffle. Ruth will check with Marianne Crampton regarding “city checksâ€
