Group Meditation at Songtsen Gampo Buddhist Center
10:30 AM - 12:00 AM
Most Sundays (10:30am-Noon)*

Learn and practice meditation to calm the mind and develop compassion.

We do various practices including Mindfulness of Breathing Meditation (Shamatha-Vipassana) and The Practice of Exchange (Tonglen), a meditation designed specifically for developing a compassionate heart. Suitable for beginners as well as more experienced practitioners.

As each session includes meditation instruction and a Dharma talk led by Ani Palmo, this is a perfect opportunity to learn the basics of Buddhism for those who are curious or would like a refresher.

Come sit with us or join us on Zoom!

*The FIRST Sunday of the month is reserved for Family Meditation.

Follow the Drinking Gourd, a service for all ages
11:00 PM - 12:00 PM
In honor of Black History month,we will learn about the importance of Ohio, and many of its citizens, to the Underground Railroad movement. The Universalists of the pre Civil War time, including members of our own Olmsted church, joined in the abolitionist movement. They contributed and supported the Black people who were attempting to escape slavery. We will recall the ways they were able to conceal themselves and communicate with each other through codes, and especially music, as they moved precariously toward freedom.
This service will be coordinated by OUUC members Lynda Garvin and Marianna Carney. Our pianist, Bob Perry, will enrich the story by helping us sing the music that guided the fugitives to freedom.
Join us after the service for soup and conversation.
