HOMELESS AWERENESS SLEEP-OUT – YOUTH RAISING FUNDS FOR LOCAL SHELTERS
7:00 PM
PRESS RELEASE
HOMELESS AWERENESS SLEEP-OUT – YOUTH RAISING FUNDS FOR LOCAL SHELTERS
November 23-24, 2024
The youth of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church have moved their annual Homeless Sleep-Out to November (from February) to both better honor the spirit of the giving season and to protect our group from sleeping outside on bone-chilling February nights. (Even with cardboard boxes and tents clustered together, sleeping bags, and layered clothing, we are in for a cold night. It was NEGATIVE 5 last February when we slept out.)
This is our 17th year sleeping outside to raise awareness and funds for local homeless shelters. Our youth will be standing on the four corners adjacent to St. Peter’s to collect donations for the unsheltered. In the past, our youth have chosen the following shelters to support: Laura’s Home, Trials For Hope, LMM, Y-Haven, Veterans’ Domicile, and Norma Herr Women’s Center. We aim to raise about $3000 so that a donation of $500 can be made to each of these shelters.
We hope to get the word out as far as possible to raise the most funds. And share our Q-R Code to simplify the donation process.
