Saturday October 6, 2007 the LHS Cross Country teams competed at the Legends Cross Country meet held at the Trumbull County Fairgrounds. The course started in the infield of the horse racing track and continued up a slight incline into and through the horse stables. The course continued to loop around the fairgrounds twice and ended in front of the grandstands of the horse racing track. This course consisted mostly of grass or dirt covered trails and was flat.
It was a very hot morning with temperatures in the upper 80’s. At the same time as the Legends Meet was being contested, Medina was hosting cross country meets and canceled their late afternoon meets.
Despite the heat (and the absence of the team's #1 runner) the Varsity Team was able to earn a strong 5th place overall with 20 teams competing. Gus Dudek of Green finished first with a time of 16.06. Lakewood Senior Nick Meeson finished a strong second a mere 9 seconds behind Dudek. Meeson was followed by Varsity teammates Seniors Casey Meeson (15th), Tim Kelly (25th), Juniors Pat Joyce (49th), Matt Miller (57th), Jay Toole (65th), and Senior Mike Andreani (79th). Over 160 athletes competed in this race.
The Girls Varsity team placed 17th out of 20 teams.
