LPD and ATF Apprehend Would-Be Shooter
On Wednesday April 23rd, 2008 the Lakewood Police Department received a request for assistance from the Cleveland Office of the ATF. A 33yr old Lakewood man had been electronically corresponding with a juvenile in Indiana. The two were planning to commit a shooting incident at an Indiana school. The St. Josephs County Prosecutors Office in Indiana had been investigating this matter and arrested an Indiana juvenile. Information was relayed to the ATF and they subsequently requested the assistance of the Lakewood Police Department.
On April 24th, 2008, the Lakewood Police Department and the WestShore Enforcement Bureau SWAT Team executed a search warrant at 1687 Robinwood Ave. #102, the suspects' residence. Confiscated during the search were a computer, computer disks, papers, books, and 3 partial boxes of handgun ammunition. The Lakewood Police Department arrested 33 year old Lee M. Billi, 33yrs for Conspiracy.The investigation is continuing.
