Cuyahoga Democratic Women's Caucus Comes To Lakewood

The Cuyahoga Democratic Women’s Caucus (CDWC) is a caucus within the County Democratic Party dedicated to encouraging and supporting women as they engage in the political process and run for office at every level of government.

With so many women candidates running for office this year in Lakewood, CDWC is hosting a Meet-n-Greet/Get Out The Vote gathering on Saturday, August 14th from 1:00-3:00 pm at Bernice Pyke Park (green space near Aladdin’s).

All candidates for local Lakewood offices are being invited to attend. Lakewood is fortunate to have numerous qualified women candidates running for every open office this year.

For Lakewood City Council At-Large: Sarah Kepple, Laura Rodriguez-Carbone, and Susannah K. Selnick. For Lakewood Municipal Judge: Sara Caprino Fagnilli and Tess Neff. For Lakewood City School Board: Nora Katzenberger and Betsy Shaughnessy. And don’t forget, our City has School Board members Emma Petri Barcelona and Linda Beebe, is led by Mayor Meghan George, and represented in Columbus by State Senator Nickie J. Antonio.

Bernice Pyke Park is our newest named park in Lakewood. Bernice Pyke was one of our own suffragettes. She was a teacher and was elected to the Lakewood City School Board. She served more than 10 years. The park address is 1320 Belle Ave.

Hope to see lots of people at Bernice Pyke Park on Saturday, August 14, 2021.
