LakewoodAlive To Host “Transportation For A 21st Century City” Community Forum On November 14

LakewoodAlive's "Transportation for a 21st Century City" Community Forum takes place on November 14.

As transportation preferences continue to evolve, our society is increasingly seeking better options for getting around. But how can we ensure our region’s transportation policies keep pace with our modern-day transportation needs?

LakewoodAlive announces it will host a community forum – entitled Transportation for a 21st Century City – from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 14, at Harrison Elementary School (2080 Quail Street in Lakewood’s Historic Birdtown Neighborhood). This community conversation will offer insightful dialogue regarding how we as a society can improve our transportation system to address today’s unique transportation challenges, capitalize on changing lifestyle preferences and enhance quality of life for individuals without adequate access to transportation.

Both the general public and members of the media are invited to attend this free forum as the community seeks to better understand current and future transportation needs and how we can create a more responsive transportation system to meet these needs. The discussion will delve into the evolution of transportation within our society, best practices for urban mass transit, and transportation solutions ranging from expanded public access and walkable neighborhoods to biking alternatives and rideshare options.

Michael P. Summers, Mayor of the City of Lakewood, will oversee a distinguished group of panelists for an informative discussion. The final 30 minutes will be devoted to panelists fielding questions from the audience.
