Cox Communications Offers Government Shutdown Help For Federal Employees

Due to the ongoing government shutdown, Cox Communications announced today that new bill pay options will be made available to assist affected federal employees with their monthly payments.

Local impacted federal employees that are unable to make a payment by their account’s due date should contact Cox and ask about “Promise to Pay” and “Promise to Pay with Extension” options which will limit late payment reminders or give customers more time to pay without worrying about interruption to their Cox services.

Representatives are available via phone, text, and online chat to discuss which options will best suit a customer’s unique needs. Affected federal employees should sign into My Account and review the My Bill card. If greeted with the message, “Can’t pay today? Request help here,” customers should click through to visit the Payment Arrangement Options page. There, they will see options to schedule a future payment beyond the current due date or request additional time to make a payment later. Follow the remaining two steps for either option to complete your payment arrangement online.

Customers who do not see the “Can’t pay today?’ options in My Account should call 1-844-221-3930 to speak with a special team representative Monday through Friday.

To text a representative, type 54512 on a mobile phone or visit for support any time. Additionally, representatives are also available in all Cox retail stores. To find a retail location, visit Cox customers in Ohio can visit Solutions Stores in Parma and Fairview Park at the Westgate Mall.
