Lakewood Seniors To Compete In The Northeast Ohio Mind Challenge

In the new year, the seniors of the Lakewood Division of Aging will test their abilities in the inaugural Northeast Ohio Mind Challenge for the New Majority.  Join us in cheering them on. Better yet, why not try out for a spot on our team?  We will be upholding Lakewood’s honor as we match wits with the seniors from 20 other Greater Cleveland area senior centers.

The Northeast Ohio Mind Challenge for the New Majority is a team-based trivia contest. The centers will be placed in brackets (Think March Madness.) based on their geographic location. As the competition progresses from February through May, we will whittle down the competitors until the top two go head to head in the finals competition in Solon.

On Tuesday, January 15, 2019, Lakewood Division of Aging will hold its own internal competition. Anyone, 50 years of age or older, is welcome to come out and test their knowledge. Staff from Get Lucky Trivia Company will run the afternoon contest for us. The six top point-getters will make up Lakewood’s team. There will be four team members, with two alternates. All January participants will receive a complimentary T-shirt.

Participant pre-registrations must be completed and turned in to the Lakewood Division of Aging Activities Office no later than Friday, December 14, 2018.  Come to the Lawther Center, 16024 Madison Ave. to complete the registration.  There is no charge for this program. Please contact the Lakewood Division of Aging Activities Office with any questions by calling 216-529-5005, or by emailing barry.wemyss@Lakewoodoh.net. Consider joining us for this fun event.  We are looking for spectators as well as competitors. Come on out. It will be fun!
