2018 Mid-Term Election Results

During a highly contentious, expensive mid-term election cycle, here in Lakewood, our representation at the Ohio Statehouse remains full of familiar faces. In the State Senate, District 23, Nicki Antonio defeated her Republican opponent Steve Flores 65% to 35%. Similarlly, Democrat Michael Skindell dominated Republican Jay Carson 78% to 22% in their race for State Representative in District 13.

At the federal level, Lakewood's representative for the 9th District in the House of Representatives remains Marcy Kaptur (Dem) as she defeated Republican Steven Kraus. Sherrod Brown also held onto his Senate seat over challenger Jim Renacci.

Other heavily watched state-wide offices including Governor/Lieutenant Governor, Attorney General, Secretary of State, Auditor, and Treasurer all went to the Republican candidates.

At the very localest of levels there were also four precincts in Lakewood with Sunday Liquor Sales on the ballot - all four were approved.
