New Wellness Foundation Decides Name, Now Looking For Board Members

The Foundation Planning Task Force is proud to announce the Healthy Lakewood Foundation. As the new wellness foundation launches, the Task Force is actively seeking passionate, diverse, and experienced board members for the inaugural board.

The open application process will begin on April 23, and applications will be accepted until May 6. Following an initial review of applications, potential candidates will be interviewed by members of the Task Force.

Interested individuals are encouraged to apply. The Task Force is especially interested in candidates who:

  • Are excited about being part of a new and impactful organization for Lakewood

  • Have the time and energy to spend on significant board work – attending meetings, participating in committee work, and being an ambassador for the foundation

  • Bring a knowledge and passion for healthy and strong communities

  • Are committed to Lakewood (Applicants are not required to be Lakewood residents, though 2/3 of board members must be residents of the city.)

Michael Bentley

Mike Bentley is originally from Lakewood and lives here today with his wife, Missy, and sons, James and Alex. In his free time, Mike enjoys gardening and landscaping, golf, Cleveland sports, The Ohio State Buckeyes, and spending time with his family. He is a past board member of the Lakewood Chamber of Commerce. He is a current board member of the Clifton Club and the Lakewood Foundation. Mike is also actively involved with LakewoodAlive, as a board member, volunteer, and title sponsor for the Front Porch Concert Series. He is also chair of the communications subcommittee for the Foundation Planning Task Force.
