MTA: Amish-Country Mysteries Author Paul L. Gaus at LPL

Where in the rolling farmlands of Amish country is Fannie Helmuth hiding? In Whiskers of the Lion, Holmes County Sheriff Bruce Robertson is looking for the young Amish woman set to testify in federal court against a murderous drug ring before she becomes their next victim. The good Sheriff finds himself in the troubling gap between the demands of the legal system he represents and the beliefs of the people he has vowed to protect.

Whiskers of the Lion is the ninth book in the Amish-Country Mysteries by Paul L. Gaus, PhD. The author will visit Lakewood Public Library on Thursday, August 3, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. to discuss the series and his extensive knowledge of the Amish and Mennonite cultures that comes from over thirty-five years of travel in Ohio’s Holmes and surrounding counties.

Gaus retired recently as the Benjamin S. Brown Professor of Chemistry at the College of Wooster, where he was Chairperson of the Chemistry Department. Retirement has given him more time for travelling with his wife, Madonna, lecturing on Amish culture at libraries and historical societies and, of course, writing great mysteries! Books will be available for sale and signing at the event which takes place in the Main Library Basement Auditorium.
