Yoga Tuesdays At The Library
"Yoga" means "union." It is a physical and spiritual Hindu exercise that continues to gain popularity in the West. Several researchers worldwide have proven the numerous benefits of yoga. But what draws hopeful yogis to the practice is the peace of mind and coinciding physical gains. Some yoga styles use meditation techniques, such as focusing on breathing. These techniques are excellent for relieving stress and allowing relaxation. Busy thoughts are calmed, and warm feelings dance harmoniously with physical motions. Each yoga posture -- or "asana" -- has a name. Postures work on separate parts of the body to improve health, heal aches, and keep illness away. Yoga can prevent disease and aid in recovery. It boosts the immune system, builds muscles, improves flexibility, aids in weight loss, and enhances posture.
Our library is inviting Marcia Camino, owner and operator of "Pink Lotus Yoga" on Detroit Ave, to share her extensive yoga knowledge with us. She is a certified yoga instructor and teacher - trainer.
