LHS, Designer Warren Earn Award For Set Design

Congratulations to Lakewood City Schools parent and Erie Design co-owner Shawn Warren and the Lakewood High School Barnstormers Club for winning the prestigious Northeast Ohio Performing Arts List for Musical Scene Design for last May's Barnstormers production of Stephen Sondheim's "Into the Woods." The NEohioPAL award winners are nominated and voted on by the public and were created to bring recognition to the region's non-professionals working in theater.

In other Barnstormers' news, the drama club recently won a grant from the Lakewood Art Festival Board for $750 to go toward costumes for this spring's musical, "Little Women." Director of costumes for the club, Autumn Sabin, applied for and won the grant.

The next Barnstormers' event will be its annual Winter One Act Plays production, with shows directed, written and acted by the students. Those shows will run Feb. 1-4 in the Lakewood High Art Atrium at 7:30 each night. There will also be a 4 pm performance on Friday, Feb. 3. Tickets are $5 at the door.
