'Tis the Season At Beck Center For The Arts

Beck Center for the Arts is fully prepared for the rapidly approaching holidays this season. With plenty of opportunities to enjoy the most wonderful time of the year, Beck Center is here to help. Ranging from handmade artwork, gift cards, theater tickets, and more…there are numerous options to suit all styles and age groups!

Beck Center’s celebration of local art and artists returns with the Limelight Holiday Gallery Exhibition. This show is perfect for shoppers looking for one-of-a-kind gifts this holiday season. You won’t want to miss the free and open to the public Artists’ Reception on Friday, December 9 from 6–7:30 p.m. Designed specifically for holiday gift giving, these works will be on display in the Jean Bulicek Galleria through Sunday, January 8.

We are thrilled to continue one of the community’s favorite traditions with our holiday production of Disney’s The Little Mermaid running December 2–31, 2016 in the Mackey Theater. Evening performances will take place at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday (12/28), Thursdays (12/15, 12/22, 12/29), Fridays, and Saturdays (12/10, 12/17). Matinee performances at 2:30 p.m. are Saturdays and Sundays. There are no performances on Saturday, December 24 and Sunday, December 25. Buy early and save with promo code: ARIEL to receive $5 off each adult/senior ticket purchased by December 1.

The performances continue with Beck Center Youth Theater’s world premiere production of AARGH!, December 9–18 in the Studio Theater. Written and directed by local playwright Rachel Spence, this original comedy promises heaps of excitement on the high seas and a pirate’s ransom of silliness. Performances are 7:30 p.m. Fridays, and 3 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. A student matinee will take place at 10 a.m. on Thursday, December 15.

Finally, our third annual Holiday Homecoming will take place from 5–7:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 22. Hosted by Beck Center's Associate Board, this special event is open to anyone who has participated in an arts education program or professional theater production. The evening will include light appetizers, cash bar, and an opportunity to connect with Beck Center alumni. This event is free to Beck Center alumni, but registration is required by emailing events@beckcenter.org with subject Holiday Homecoming.
