Aunt Flow Wants To Change The World, One Cycle At A Time

Aunt Flow founder and CEO, Claire Coder

Claire Coder isn’t your typical 19 year old Ohio native. After attending a semester at Ohio State and learning college wasn’t for her, she dropped out to pursue building Aunt Flow full time.

Aunt Flow is a buy-one, give-one subscription box for 100% cotton tampons and pads. Women (and men!) can go online, customize a box of 18 pieces, and have it delivered to their doors monthly. For each box they order, a box of the same quality will be delivered to a woman in need. Bonus! They get to choose which one of our rotating charities their give-one box will go to. Essentially, taking care of your flow, takes care of her flow.

In 2015, 30,637 women lived in poverty in Ohio’s 9th Congressional District (44107). Menstrual products are not covered by food stamps or WIC. Often, families and shelters must decide that food takes precedence over tampons and pads. Aunt Flow is committed to providing these women with dignity. People helping people. Period.

Never did Claire think that she would talk about menstruation for a living. Even from a young age, her mother was not afraid to share with her the realities of life. As an art therapist, she saw many women that would have to resort to plastic bags or dirty socks to stop the flow. This is messy, uncomfortable, and downright humiliating. The goal of Aunt Flow is to make every woman’s period as painless as possible – regardless of income.

Aunt Flow is a national organization. However, as it is Ohio-based, many of our charities are currently based in Ohio. We have the ability to truly change the lives of Northeast Ohio women, but first, humans need to know how to help! Order now at On Team No Flow? Donation options are available. For Claire, success is not a college degree, but how comfortably people can talk about tampons. Let’s flow forward.
