Living The Law: The Right To Privacy

What happens when an individual’s right to privacy conflicts with a community’s desire for public safety? Barbara Greenberg, J.D. will explore these issues in Living the Law: The Right to Privacy, a four part series held in the Main Library Auditorium. The first discussion takes place on Tuesday, September 27 at 7:00 p.m. and considers where the right of privacy comes from and when we have it. The second discussion, Personal Privacy, takes place on Tuesday, October 4 and will include controversial issues such as gene mapping, the right to life, the right to die, and marriage partners.

Other topics include, Public Health and Safety on Tuesday, October 18 and Technology on Tuesday, October 25. Greenberg’s Privacy series is part of The Laura and Alvin Siegal Lifelong Learning Program. All of the programs take place at 7 p.m. in the Main Library Auditorium. Admission is free and open to all.
