New Grief Support Group

Grief is the normal and natural reaction to loss. But most of us do not know how to “move beyond” our losses. The Grief Recovery Method® teaches that grief is emotional, not intellectual, and that unresolved grief is almost always about undelivered communication of an emotional nature.

Grief Recovery Method® Support Groups provide the tools to deliver the undelivered emotional communication and complete the pain around our losses. They teach how to complete and say good-bye to what or whom we have lost, in a way that allows us to move beyond the grief and the pain, and enter into life and joy again. They teach how to be present with others in their grief so that they too may move into the future with hopefulness.

The Grief Recovery Method® is for those who desire to address the pain in their lives, due to loss. Developed by the Grief Recovery® Institute, this program is conducted by Certified Grief Recovery Specialists®. All are current or retired chaplains from Fairview and Lakewood Hospitals. 

This Winter an 8-wk Support Group will be offered:

On eight Tuesdays, January 26, 2016 10:30 a.m. - Noon., and ending March 15 at the Fairview Hospital Wellness Center, 3035 Wooster Rd., Rocky River, OH 44116

Registrations requested by January 22.

(A Spring Group will be offered beginning April 6, 2016. Time and place TBA)

I am retired Hospital Chaplain and Pastor, an ordained pastor in good standing with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. Most recently I served as Director of Pastoral/Spiritual Care at Fairview and Lakewood Hospitals. I am a Certified Grief Recovery Specialist and wrote a three year grant to provide Grief Recovery Work Groups using the Grief Recovery Method.
