Great Lakes Light Opera Performs Gilbert And Sullivan At Lakewood Public Library

A beloved musical duo, librettist W. S. Gilbert and composer Arthur Sullivan are renowned for their clever lyrics, haunting melodies, wicked parodies, and social satire. The Lakewood Public Library is pleased to welcome Great Lakes Light Opera (GLLO) back to the Library, where they will perform selections from Gilbert and Sullivan operettas.

Founded in 2012, GLLO is dedicated to bringing high-quality, professional-level performances to Cleveland audiences. The mission of GLLO is to allow everyone, both opera lovers and those who have never heard opera before, to understand and to enjoy opera. As part of their Gilbert and Sullivan program, GLLO will be performing selections from "The Pirates of Penzance," "H.M.S. Pinafore," "The Mikado," and "Thespis."

Great Lakes Light Opera’s performance takes place in the Main Library auditorium on Sunday, January 31 at 2 p.m. as part of the Library's Sunday with the Friends series. Admission is free and open to all. For more information, visit www.lakewoodpubliclibrary.org/programs.
