New Grief Support Groups

We are all in an ongoing process of saying “Hello” and “Good-bye” to people, to events, to places and things. We all face loss, and there are all sorts and kinds of losses that people experience in life. But most of us do not know how to “move beyond” our losses. We also all have our well-intentioned ways of trying to be a comfort to those in grief, but most often what we say does not really help and may at times even be hurtful. We have all heard or said at one time or another, “You need to let go,” but do we really know how to do that?

That’s just what the Grief Recovery Method® Grief Support Groups teach; how to let go, how to complete and say good-bye to what or whom we have lost, in a way that allows us to move beyond the grief and the pain, and enter into life and joy again. It teaches how to be present with others in their grief so that they too may move into the future with hopefulness.

The Grief Recovery Method® is for those who desire to address the pain in their lives, due to loss. Developed by the Grief Recovery® Institute, this program is conducted by Certified Grief Recovery Specialists®. All are current or retired chaplains from Fairview and Lakewood Hospitals.

This Fall two 8-wk Support Groups are offered:

  • The First on eight Thursdays, September 17, 6-7:30 p.m., and ending November 5 at the St. Ladislas Catholic Church, 2345 Bassett Rd., Westlake, OH 44107
