City Working To Repair Underground Pipes At Lakewood Park

The city of Lakewood is doing some emergency maintenance at the east side of Lakewood Park.

Repairs at the eastern slope of the park — which include the replacement of underground pipes — are expected to be completed by early summer.

A portion of the walking path may be closed during the project. Park visitors are encouraged to be mindful of construction work and equipment near the site.

“We really want to encourage people to pay attention to the posted signs and stay away from the barricaded areas,” said Mark Papke, the city’s engineer. “We’re grateful for everyone’s patience as we wrap up this project.”

The work will not delay the $2 million Solstice Steps project at the other side of the park.
