Lunch with Santa will take place at Dewey’s Pizza (18516 Detroit Avenue) from 10:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Don’t forget your camera as Dewey’s will be hosting pictures with Santa after you finish your lunch. Thank you to Dewey’s Pizza for donating 20% of all receipts to LakewoodAlive during Lunch with Santa.

This year, there is so much music to be heard during Light Up Lakewood we had to start a lot of the musical acts prior to the Light Up Lakewood Festival. Please make sure you check out the website and the schedule of events in this issue for the updated schedule.

Make sure to visit the historic Lakewood Masonic Temple which will be transformed to our Vendor Village for the event from 4-8 p.m. The Village will have 20 fantastic vendors from all over Lakewood and the surrounding communities. This is a great chance for you to start your holiday shopping. All of our kid’s games this year will be in the basement of the Masonic Temple, so stop on down, play some games and stay warm.

All of our food this year has been condensed into the Coral Company Food Court which will be located in the Lakewood Farmer’s Market Parking lot. We will have 10 of the best food trucks and vendors in the Cleveland area. Make sure you visit the food court to pick up and snack while you Explore Downtown Lakewood.

We could not be more excited to announce the Grand Marshal of the Light Up Lakewood Parade that starts at Parkhaven Row at 5 p.m. and will head westbound on Detroit Avenue all the way down to Arthur. Mr. Bill Hixson “Mr. Christmas,” who opened his first shop in Lakewood in 1953 and has been in his current location 14125 Detroit Avenue since 1959, is the 2014 Light Up Lakewood Parade Grand Marshal. Make sure you stop by Hixson’s Flower Barn to say hello and wave to him when you see him in the parade.

At 6:30 p.m. please make your way to our Main Stage at the intersection of Belle and Detroit where will have a selection of amazing music from some of Lakewood’s own talented musicians. With help from Mayor Summers, the winner of the Chamber of Commerce “Why I love Lakewood” poem contest, Buddy, Santa and the entire Community of Lakewood, we will light up Lakewood. Fireworks and music from Revolution Pie to follow.
