The Lakewood Women’s Club 10th Annual Pumpkin Fun Run
Come one, come all! Runners & Walkers! Youngsters & Oldsters! erious Competitors & Just for the FUN of it runners!
We would love to see you at our 10th Annual Fun Run on Sunday, October 26th at Lakewood Park. The 5K course starts in the park, and goes out Lake Avenue and circles back to finish in the park; the one mile Fun Run goes through the park. This year’s run will raise money for The HUGS Foundation, a local Lakewood non-profit organization that helps families with chemically dependent adolescents find Hope, Understanding, Gratitude and Serenity.
The run will also help the Lakewood Women’s Club to support a scholarship for a young women in Lakewood pursing a college education. We have some amazing, talented young women in our community, and we take great pride in recognizing and acknowledging their achievements every year.
This run is also a lot of fun! That’s why it called the Fun Run!
One of the many awards that are given out each year is for The Best Halloween Costume. It’s cool to see how creative participants get when they have to make a costume that is also easy to run in. We also serve up some yummy pumpkin treats at our bake sale, and will have a face painter, “Art by Ali” on site. And new this year, in honor of our recipient, The HUGS Foundation, we are selling HUGS for $1.00!
So whether you’re gearing up to win or are just looking for a way to run in your Halloween costume, come and join in the fun and the run!
Runners that register by October 13th are guaranteed a commemorative race T-shirt.

Pre-registration entries must be post marked by Wednesday, October 22, 2014. Race day registration starts at 7:45 a.m. on Sunday, October 26; the 5K goes off at 8:45 a.m. and the 1 Mile Run begins at 9:15 a.m.
