For school-age children

Bone up on your reading skills by reading to a dog. Drop in for a one-to-one session with one of our dogs and owners that have been certified through Therapy Dogs International.

Lakewood Lego® League
For youth in kindergarten through fifth grade (caregivers welcome)

Use LPL’s collection of Lego®Bricks and your own imagination to create fabulous new structures and designs each month. No registration, but numbered tickets will be given out first-come, first-served. One ticket per child.

Sunday, August 17, 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. in the Main Library Activity Room.

Summer Survivors Teen Party
For students entering sixth through twelfth grade

You survived another summer but can you last through the party? Join us for an afternoon of survival adventure to see who will make it through, who will win, and who will be voted out of the library! Completion of the summer reading club is encouraged but not required. Registration is required.

Family Weekend Wonders

Make the Library a part of your family weekend time with programs featuring stories, activities, music and crafts. These free programs are offered every weekend throughout the year at both the Main Library and Madison Branch. No registration is needed. Weekends With Wee Ones
For families with children under 2 years old

Spend a part of your family weekend time clapping your hands, tapping your feet, singing nursery rhymes and, of course, sharing books. We will provide materials and ideas for those wishing to continue the fun at home. Programs are offered every weekend throughout the year and there is no need to register in advance.
