Lakewood Businesses Contribute Goods, Highlight Heart Of City During 2014 WVIZ/PBS Televised Auction

The WVIZ/PBS Televised Auction, a Northeast Ohio rite of spring, airs Thursday, April 24 to Sunday, April 27 (3 p.m. to 1 a.m. on Thursday and Friday, and noon until 1 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday). Throughout the 40+ hours of Auction action, more than 4,000 items will be up for bid, both practical and priceless. Thanks to the work and generosity of area merchants, including Lion & Blue, as well as the Lakewood Chamber of Commerce, goods and services with a Lakewood flair and focus will be featured in a special Destination segment on Friday, April 25 during the 10 p.m. hour on the WVIZ/PBS Televised Auction.

Special Lakewood items and experiences up for bid include:

  • A Spanish Wine Dinner for four at Players on Madison
  • A Galveston electric guitar from Marrell Music
  • A loaf of bread every week for a year from Breadsmith of Lakewood
  • Tickets to events and benefits, including Lakewood Chocolate Walk, Lakewood Historical Society's House Tour, Lakewood Hospital Foundation’s Starry Night and Taste of Lakewood
  • Tickets to see Young Frankenstein at the Beck Center
  • A basket of salon goodies from Dramatics Hair Salon
  • Gift cards to Lakewood restaurants and businesses, including Blackbird Bakery, Crafty Goodness, Geiger’s, Goddess Blessed, Lion & Blue, Paisley Monkey, The Reiki Room and Rozi’s Wine House

The WVIZ/PBS Televised Auction is a community-wide event that involves hundreds of volunteers from all over Northeastern Ohio who participate behind-the-scenes and on-the-air.
