Lakewood Public Library Annual Spelling Bee

Attention Spellers! And we know from experience, there are a lot of you out there! This year we will be combining the championships for the second through fourth, and the fifth through eighth graders on one special night.

Both groups are invited to participate in a preliminary round. They will take place on October 3 and October 10th. The second to fourth graders will be meeting at 4 p.m. for their rounds. The fifth through eighth graders will be meeting at 4:45 p.m. 

You need only register and attend one preliminary round to be qualified for the championship. The final round championship will be held on Friday, October 18th. All participants of both age ranges will meet at 6:15 p.m. in the Main Library Auditorium. Grades 2 to 4 will compete at 6:30 p.m., with awards to follow directly after the competition. Grades 5 to 8 will compete at 7:15 p.m., with awards to follow directly after the competition.
