Lakewood Public Library Spelling Bee

Vivify yourself with expeditiousness—the Lakewood Public Library Spelling Bee is coming! All youth in 5th through 8th grade are invited to experience the ardor and exhilaration, blunders and bloopers, triumphs and disappointments of a competitive spelling bee.

Preliminary rounds begin on Thursday, March 14th in the Main Library Multipurpose Room. During each of the next three Thursdays, the tension will mount as the number of competitors dwindles. All spellers still standing on April 11th will be invited to a friendly meet and greet reception before facing off in the championship on Friday, April 12th.

The championship round will be a Scripps Howard-style bee held in the Main Library Auditorium, with a stage, lights, and microphones. Don’t miss your chance to shine in what is sure to be one of the highlights of the year at Lakewood Public Library!

To register, stop in at the children and youth services desk, use our online event registration system at http://www.lakewoodpubliclibrary.org/youth/, or call (216) 226-8275 ext. 140.
