Kiwanis Pizza Bake-Off, January 17
An instant tradition is in the making as Kiwanis presents its second annual Pizza Bake-Off on Thursday, January 17.
The Bake-Off will take place in Lakewood High School’s East Cafeteria from 5:00 to 8:00. Tickets available at the door are priced at $10.00 for adults and $5.00 for children 12 and under. Students (13-18) can buy tickets for $8.00 in advance at their schools (not at the door). As always, proceeds will go to support Kiwanis’s programs for families and children.
The Thursday date was chosen because the following day is a no-school day for the high school, and because the event will not conflict with other school activities.
The procedure will be the same as last year: Seventeen Lakewood pizzerias will set up shop and offer slices of their products to all. The order of the day is “All you can eat”: Customers may return for as many samples as they wish from as many stands as they wish. In addition, each admission ticket includes a ticket for one soft drink. Free coffee will also be available.
Customers will be invited to vote for their favorites in three categories: People’s Choice (overall best); Best Pepperoni; and Best Specialty.
