Why I Will Not Vote for Any Republican Candidates.
Here simply is why I will not vote for any Republican candidate this election: They think that people are simpletons and they disguise what they really want to do under misleading terms like "freedom" and "liberty." They think corporations and rich people should have the freedom to do just about whatever they please in pursuit of profits.
Nothing is sacred to them. They will sell off or destroy anything for the right price, and the sacred goes pretty cheap these days. They will fix Social Security and Medicare by weakening them financially, just as they did the Postal Service, by requiring them to pre-fund their retiree health care benefits for the next 75 YEARS! Then when it looks weak, they attack it and tear it apart. Why do this to the Post Office? So they can weaken postal unions while their cronies in the private sector siphon off the most lucrative aspects of the service, city business delivery in particular. They don't like Social Security or Medicare, social programs that smell of socialism, so if given the chance to fix them, they will assuredly destroy them both.
Consumer protection? Workers' health and safety? Clean air and water? National Parks and wilderness areas? Not important. Not important. Not important. NOT IMPORTANT!
Republicans have some newfound sense of power and have cast off their sheep's clothing, revealing themselves as never before. Their targets are minorities, women, gays, immigrants and the poor.
Education is an enemy to them, just as it is to the Taliban. Education can set you free from their lies and they do much better when people are weak and scared. They sow anger and hate.
They have done everything they could to make the economy worse; stifled every attempt by the Democrats to improve it. Practically single-handedly, they managed to get the credit rating of American bonds down-graded. That was truly one of their proud achievements. Given the chance, they will do it again at the end of this year.
They are holding this country hostage to their own radical agenda. Are you one to negotiate with terrorists?
I am not willing to have narrow-minded, bigoted, greedy, selfish and self-serving leaders determine my future, my family's future, or my country's future. A House of Representatives controlled by the Republicans will continue to sow chaos and discord. They thrive in such a climate.
I say clean the House and the Senate of Republican power. They make pie-in-the-sky promises. Don't believe them! President Obama is certainly not a saint, but I truly believe he will preserve much more of what makes this country great.
Really, what is the Republicans' whole platform? Elect us: Obama stinks; we don't. Give me a break!
