Lakewood Community Services Center

We are currently looking to increase our volunteer team at Lakewood Community Services Center.

Celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, LCSC, with its partners, provides basic needs assistance and personalized resource and referral services with the goal of empowering each individual to move toward greater self-sufficiency. What began as a small food pantry has grown into a multi-service organization that not only provides emergency food to residents of Lakewood, Rocky River and Westlake, but also supports our community by providing: homeless prevention assistance for those at risk of losing their housing; housing search and placement for homeless individuals referred from organizations throughout Cuyahoga County; short-term temporary housing for homeless Lakewood residents; monthly food delivery to Lakewood seniors in senior housing; ongoing case management; referrals and linkages to provider partners; and onsite access to mainstream benefits.

The need for assistance is continuing to grow at an astounding rate. At least 10% of the total number of households we serve each month have never before needed our help, and this year we will provide emergency food to 18% of the total population of the City of Lakewood! Without the dedicated support of over 50 volunteers, LCSC could not provide services in the professional, efficient and caring manner that has become the hallmark of our organization. Our client assistance opportunities include welcoming clients and entering information into our client database, assisting with food distribution, helping stock and sort product in our food pantry and manning the phones during our regular hours of operation, which are  Monday through Friday from 10am - 2pm and Wednesday evenings from 5:30-7:30.
