  • The accident was about  11:15 pm, I was on Madison on the north side between Cordova and Larchmont.   The sun in the image was speeding at about 45 mph.  Then I heard a giant horrific crash,  like a bomb exploded.   I drove over to the site about 3 houses north of Madison.   I did not see anyone leaving the vehicle.   I went to help anyone that may be injured.  I was at the site in about 30 seconds after the crash.  Neighbors came out,  we looked for a driver,  but no one  was in there.  We looked and spent 5 minutes looking until the first officer was on site.   The owner of the other vehicle struck, was outside eventually.   He was at the home where his parked vehicle was struck  and sent into the front lawn of the house.   That vehicle had extreme damage to the rear end.   Looks like a total loss.   I can't believe someone got out and ran as some people said at the scene.   I think they were making assumptions possibly? ?  All doors were closed and not open able,  the wind shield was on the pavement.   The space to get out of either door was too small for an adult to get through. It would only be possible if they were thrown from the car before it landed on it's roof and then they ran off, but seems unlikely if you see the damage and the force necessary to flip the car.  David P.
