Lkwd Firefighter Memorial And Recognition Ceremony 2019.

Each year at the beginning of Fire Prevention the City of Lakewood gathers to retire firefighters, swear in fire fighters and commend firefighters. This was the 2019 event and it was bigger than usual. ©2019 Lakewood Observer.com

  • Captain Nicholas Sambula gets sworn in on his new commission.

  • And recieves his badge.

  • Fire Chief Tim Dunphy gets swron in as Chief of the Fire Department.

  • Mayor Summers congratulates Tim.

  • He gets the gold badge!

  • Mayor Summers adresses the people there.

  • It was somewhat bittersweet thinking this is the last time Mayor Summers will address this event.

  • Chief Dunphy and Mayor Summers bring out a wreath for the fallen firefighters.
