  • Hawk in a tree on Robinwood, checking for food. I followed this bird for 5 streets. He would stop for about 5 minutes looking everywhere then move west ine street, stop and look.

  • ... this. Which also leades to very loud explaosions as the Lakewood Harbor Master decideds to blow up the ice dams so they do not caus ereal problems.

  • Lakewood Observer's Nadhal Eadeh returns from kicking off Feb. 16th's Youth Forum which was heavily attended.

  • The panel of Lakewood teens answering questions about their experiences in Lakewood.

  • Councilwaoman Mary Louise Madigan and Mayor Michael Summers we some of the attendees. The only other elected official I saw at the begining was School Board President Matthew Markling, who commented, "That this was a good meeting and a great way to open up dialogue in this wonderfully diverse city."

  • Councilwoman Monique Smith tries to keep little "Gabby" quiet in the hallway was listening through the doorway. I found this picture to be particularly significant as she is is also holding the future of Lakewood, while listening through the door.

  • Lakewood, Ohio as it was in 1885.

  • Protesters lined up outside of The Beck center for the second night of Jerry Springer the Opera. Which was sold out and very few seats remain for the hit musical from Broadway. The protesters were local and some flown in from The American Society For The Defense Of Tradition Family and Prosperty. A group along with another group from Kansas that has put together a war chest of $12 million dollars to travel and protest the musical.

  • Joe who has been seen in a silent vigil at St. James joined in.

  • Paul sykes from the Beck Café handed out coffee to show protesters just how nice Lakewood is.

  • And of course there were some fun lovers and lovers of the Beck Center present. It is always nice in the middle of a protest to see a little love and humor.

  • It would seem the media felt the same way as they got the lion share of the interview and TV time.

  • So much so that finally one of the protesters came over and grab the Beck lover and shook her, calling her a sinner and a fraud.

  • Ahhhhhhhhhhh. I think this shot from the entrance to Lakewood's Dog Park would explain. If you cannot beat them, and most of your resident want it to stay, why not build a path to the Dog Park.

  • Today's Kauffman Park Friends Afternoon In The Park, got started with a bunch of people walking down to get an early start of the Scavenger Hunt.

  • A big hit for the kids was the FREE Hot Chocolat from the Root Café.

  • Coming down the hill is two leaders from The Lakewood Outdoor Basketball Committee, Stephanie Toole, and Nahal Eadeh.

  • People lining up for more hot chocolate and wanting to check out the prizes.

  • While the kids are out scavenging, School Board President Matt Markling, David and Christina McCallum,  Susan Calleri and Meg Ostrowski get the prizes ready for the winners.

  • The Emerald Canyon has become a hot spot for sunsets and good photos. Yesterday I saw at 6 people stop to take photos or just look. Here Mary Coleman stops for some photos and others join.

  • The block that the Lutheran Church sits on has been bought by CVS Pharamcy for a CVS Super Store, or at least something larger and newer than the current place just eats of the Lakewood Public Library.

  • Heading back the water continues to rise. The water on the left is actually moving water coming down from Stincholmb Hill and flowing into the river.

  • By 5pm the water from Stinchcomb had joined with the rising river giving the river a straighter path. The yellow line represents where the water was at at 11am.
