Every Snowflake Is Special, When It Comes To LakewoodAlive's Holiday DowntowN Extravaganza

Lakewood used to have decorations all over town. Detroit Ave. and Madison Ave. up and down the street. Huge display of lights at Lakewood Park with luminaries on the bike trail, just marvelous stuff. Now everything has been moved by LakewoodAlive's orders to the business district of "Mainstreet" in Lakewood's "Downtown." While some of us were driving around and complaining, suddenly the beauty of the effort came forward. Each and every snowflake is different. Just like the real things. So we went out and documented the snowflakes, and noticed that LA had brought an entire theme to not just "DowqntowN" on "Mainstreet" but throughout the city! • A sample from Belle and Detroit. We are currently entering the other stars into "Google Maps" so that you can visit each and everyone and maybe have you and or your family's photo taken under your favorite. If you go to the place that used to be called "Sinagra Park" wear rubber gloves and rubber boots. This fine example is at 14501 Detroit Ave., GOOGLE MAPS #LA_LUL_09_03b263451

  • 14861 Detroit Avenue  Google Maps #LA_LUL_09_03b263490
  • You know while we are at 14861 Detroit Avenue, let's stop and see how LakewoodAlive has decorated what used to tbe called "Sinagra Park" REMEMBER PUT RUBBER GLOVES AND BOOTS ON NOW! and behold the beauty.
  • Hey wait, some of these lights seem to be not working this year! I know there were many, many less than in the past, and nowhere near as many as LAkewood Park or before LakewoodAlive, but hey!
  • Now this is frustraing. In the summer we come down here to see the beautiful hanging flowers, even though you had to get here the day after they went up! But this is something else.
  • Oh wait. I get it! LakewoodAlive made this just like the snowflakes. Everyone is slightly different, and well you know "special" like that group of students down the hallway when you were a kid. They all have little lights missing like "oAnn Fabrics."
  • Hey LOOK! Marc'® this is cool. Even the border lights are burned out!
  • Hey even Garden and Ame Stop joined in!
  • Now this is pretty cool. Let's check in with our favorite Charlie Brown snowflake again, good ole  #LA_LUL_09_03b263490 which I named Betty Lou, just like Betty Lou Who, in "The Grinch That Stole Christmas!" 14861 Detroit Avenue  Google Maps
  • Did Dad install this wiring, or worse yet Grandpa?
  • Holly Cow! Thank God we put our Rubber Gloves and boots on! I mean holly cow!
  • Let's just go over by this pole! No way!!!!
  • Loose wires and open recepticles everywhere! Let's get away from this.
  • What's that! Ahhhhhhhh!
  • Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
  • Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
  • Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
  • Well I am sure it is all UL Approved and water safe, right? right? UH-OHHHH!
  • I think it has even screwed up the birds look!
  • This was it the first year when Jennifer Hooper did it.
  • Obviously nowhere near the cutting edge style of Mary Anne Crampton and her crew at LakewoodAlive.
  • Big sashes are no longer around?
  • They make the area so festive, where are they?
  • I remember the year you put them up and never lit them? What happened?
  • I guess this edgey stuff is better than luminaries all over Lakewood Park outling the walk paths, that wound through all the lit trees, for the healthy walkers and joggers.
  • Trees aglow with Holiday lights.
  • Lakewood Park was always so special in the winter. Skaters, Skateboarders, bikers, joggers, walkers, etc. it was just magical.
  • Another shot of the wonderful luminaries.
  • STAY TUNED WILL BE FINSIHING THE CATALOGING OF LakewoodAlive's "Special Snowflakes" remember only "DowntowN" on "Mainstreet" in Lakewood, Ohio
