St. Edward vs Strongsville HS

St. Edward came out triumphant over Strongsville Saturday evening at a sold out Lakewood Stadium by a final score of 37-36.

It was a game of inches, as Strongsville kicker Nate Feese attempted a 51-yard field goal with three seconds and bounced it off of the field goal cross bar to seal the one point victory for the Eagles.

The lead changed five times throughout the game, as both teams committed turnovers and capitalized on their opponents’ mistakes. St. Edward found themselves down 21-0 but battled back to take the lead and shift the momentum in their favor.The Mustangs scored as time expired in the first half to take the lead back heading into halftime.

The Eagles gaited 90 yards in less than two minutes and eventually tied the game 36-36 on a three yard run by Brad Staples with 39 seconds left in the game. The extra point kick by Ramsey Ayata was good to give the Eagles the victory.
