LHS Baseball opens 2008 season

Lakewood lost it's season opener 8-0 against the North Olmsted Eagles on Wednesday, April 2 at Lakewood Stadium.

Junior Jordan Kraus received the chance to start on the mound, and after a quick first inning he found himself in a bases loaded jam in the 2nd inning.

The Rangers, who seemed to break out of their spring hitting slump in the bottom of the 1st inning, could not advance their runners after loading the bases with no outs.

The Rangers will play again on Friday, April 4, at 4:30 pm for the opening game of the Al Gruss/Toni DiBiasio Tournament. St.Edward, Holy Name, North Olmsted and Lakewood make up the teams in this year's tournament. The Tournament will wrap up Saturday, with games starting at 10 am and lasting until the evening when the Rangers take on St.Edward at 6:30 pm.
