We need someone with a circular saw, to cut a tree root, which is growing toward the foundation of my mom and dad's house, from the neighbor's property. He said it was ok to cut, but I no longer have my saws.
Anyone up for cutting a tree root, or know of someone?
Mark

Jeff can chime in here Mark, but I wouldn't touch it unless the neighbor put it in writing. Even then, I might not depending on the size of the tree.
You can cut limbs, roots and so on from a neighboring tree that is in/over your property but if you cause damage you can become responsible/liable... if you cut limbs off a big old oak tree causing imbalance and that tree then falls on the neighbors house, guess who they're coming after? Once you do something to that tree it's no longer and "act of God".
At least that's what a lawyer told me once, your mileage may vary...
FWIW.
