Woman had jumped to her death earlier in the day a couple years ago.

Over the past couple decades more and more bridges are getting covered in tall fencing to stop people from throwing things over them, and stop people from jumping in suicide attempts. Most bridges around here have slowly been enclosed with fencing, Clifton Bridge, then Detroit Bridge, then the Lorain Bridge. Hilliard Bridge has not been fenced in, as everyone has been trying to figure out what to do with the bridge, Save it, tear it down, and what to replace it with.

In the past couple years, suicide attempts have increased, and while the bridge it scheduled for destruction this year, attempts continue.

Jen Stross, took it uponherself to try to stop suicide attempts by leaving notes of love, inspiration, self affirmation and important numbers to call almost every ten feet along the bridge on both sides. Each is hand written, wrapped in plastic, and secured with tie straps. It is an odd and somewhat interesting art installation there for one reason, to give the person who is desperate, depressed and feeling hopeless, something else to think about. Breaking the train of thought of someone suicidal for even a minute can often save a life.

I would like to thank the Jenn for the love and thought that went into this. Notes of LOVE and HOPE heavily secured to a place that too many have walked on for their last time.

Here are some of them, you can see them all in the photo gallery linked at the end.
