Jim will hate this topic

One thing I learned early about Jim O'Bryan is that he hates compliments. This is a compliment. This is to say "thank you" for all he is doing for the community as we face this dauntlng pandemic. You all see what he is posting here, and many see what he is doing on Facebook. It's as though everything he has built up over the years is coming into play now, when it is most needed. Thanks, Jim.

Dan

Wasted electrons without mentioning all Observers. What I do is very little, what we do together is very powerful. One of the reasons two city administrations tried to run us out of business. But as we know, they were fools, because it is not Jim O'Bryan, it is the Observers. Various members stepping up when needed, relaxing when not.

One thing that bothers me is everything the Observer did in the early days was to make Lakewood sustainable in situations like this. The Observer was just one part of a large project we called "The Visionary Alignment for Lakewood" far before the City borrowed the name for a bullshit report they issued. Information, food security, Education through library and schools, Medical, financial and more. LEAF, Bike Lakewood, Lakewood is Art, the Front Porch Concerts, and more were all started by or with the Lakewood Observer to make the city sustainable in times like this.

People forget the real goal, and many chose political sides instead of always choosing Lakewood and Lakewoodites. Observers never make that mistake. That makes me smile.

So to recap, everything all of have done here, has helped the community prepare for these days.

Thank you all, thank you Dan, and I love this city and the people that live and work here.
